Deportivo is a dance-tinged indie rock band based out of France. The snaky basslines and disco drumbeats of post-punk are prevalent in the group's music, but the jittery edges are smoothed over with a slick alternative rock sound that streamlines the whole thing into a tidy pop rock package. Mechanical beats, synthesizers and steady pulses occasionally creep up alongside the predominantly guitar-driven rock, offering a touch of danceable energy to Deportivo's music. The band has yet to crossover to much international success, but with slots at notable festivals lined up for 2011, it could potentially make a name for itself in no time.
