Cuchara

Cuchara (Spoon in English) is an experimental rock group from Santiago, Chile that takes various orchestral instruments such as the bassoon, the cello and the flute and combines their sounds with more traditional rock instrumentation. Dubbed as "intellectual hippies" for their almost academic approach to creating mind-blowing experimental rock, the members of Cuchara manage to weave Chilean folk music with deft orchestral lines and vocals into a style of music that never manages to sacrifice its rock-influenced rhythmic drive.
