For New Orleans-based musician C.J. Chenier, music runs deep. Born to the New Orleans mainstay, prolific Zydeco figure and Grammy Award-winning musician Clifton Chenier, he has faithfully carried on the family business, honing his skills on the accordion and maintaining a respectable recording and performing schedule along with his backing band, The Red Hot Louisiana Band. Now considered a major touchstone for New Orleans roots and jazz music, Chernier continues to spread his Zydeco songs around the world as a champion of Cajun and Creole music.
