David Porter

David Porter is a soul musician from Memphis, Tennessee who is perhaps best known as the songwriting and production partner of famed performer and songwriter Isaac Hayes in the 1960s. Always preferring to avoid the spotlight where his music is concerned, Porter would spend much of the 1970s releasing his own albums under the Stax label, along with releasing songs for other labels under various pseudonyms. Porter's prolific, decades-spanning career continues today, and in 2005 he was inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame.
