The Fling is a Southern California quartet that combines several styles of music into one admirably cohesive indie pop whole. The band formed in 2005 and is heavily centered around the brother pairing of Dustin (guitar/vocals) and Graham (bass/vocals) Lovelis. Along with additional members, Justin Roeland (guitar/vocals) and Justin Ivey (drums), the Fling creates pop music that is strongly influenced by 1960s rock--specifically that of The Beatles--as well as some decidedly American genres such as folk and alt country. Echoes of Pink Floyd can be heard in the group's strong harmonies and overall psychedelic pop sound.
