John Mills is a long-time fixture on the Austin, TX jazz scene. Currently with the University of Texas's Jazz Studies Department, Mills packs his crack band with other journeymen, Austinite jazzmen as well as a slew of talented, young UT jazz grads. Mills's music mines the wealth of classic jazz but also incorporates the influence of more avant-garde musicians like Frank Zappa and Weather Report.
