The Soldier Thread

Formed in 2007, The Soldier Thread is an Austin-based band able to walk the tightrope between indie and mainstream. The five-piece layers jangly guitars with tinkly keys, lending it the basics for indie pop, but also incorporating enough heavy riffage and melodramatic female vocals to appeal to the mainstream. While it's difficult to foretell whether The Soldier Thread will continue to walk the dividing tightrope or fall to one side or the other, the band has built up a fan base that is likely to continue to follow the group, no matter which way it falls.
