Gary Chaw, born July 9, 1979, in Kota Belud, Sabah, Malaysia, is a prominent Malaysian Chinese singer-songwriter based in Taiwan. Known for his wide vocal range and dynamic stage presence, he achieved significant recognition with his 2006 Hong Kong TVB8 Best Newcomer Singer award and his Mandarin version of Karyn White's "Superwoman," which earned him the Best Mandarin Male Singer award at the Golden Melody Awards. Despite early career struggles, including alcohol abuse and depression, Chaw's career flourished with Rock Records. His discography includes notable albums such as Super Sunshine (2008) and Sensation (2011). Chaw's personal life includes his marriage to Taiwanese Wu Sou Ling and their two children. Although he has faced challenges, including a bipolar diagnosis, Chaw remains active and influential, with appearances on shows like I Am A Singer 2 and The Masked Singer.
