Because it boasts band members that all come from a background in punk rock, Drag the River is able to stand out on the alternative country scene. Formed in 1996, when founding members Chad Price and Jon Snodgrass were bored with their respective punk bands, Drag the River was originally just a creative outlet for the duo. However, after recruiting other various members that shared this punk background, the group released a set of demos in 2000 and have been touring worldwide while releasing southern rock-tinged albums ever since.
